What is School-Wide Positive Behavior Support?

School-Wide Positive Behavior Support is a multi-level prevention concept originated in the US-American cultural area. It is now being implemented in adapted form at numerous schools in various countries. In implementing School-Wide Positive Behavior Support, special emphasis is placed on supporting and promoting the emotional and social competencies of all learners, considering their individual needs.

The aim of School-Wide Positive Behavior Support is for all children and adults to feel comfortable at school and to develop as well as possible. For this to succeed, we at the school at Dreslers Park have decided the following school-wide basic values.

The basic values can also be found in our school slogan:

The following video shows how we want to deal with each other in school.

In order to be able to look at how one should behave respectfully, committedly and responsibly in various situations at school during everyday school life, so-called "behaviour matrices" hang in clearly visible places.

The primary school at Dreslers Park is one of the first schools in Germany to implement step by step Positive Behavior Support since 2016 with the support of scientists from the Universities of Oldenburg (Michael Paal and Anna-Maria Hintz) and Siegen (Isabelle Erbslöh).
